The Roeming Story

For over 70 years, Roeming Industries has been helping businesses solve tough industrial challenges — and we’ve done it as a family.

Carl and Audrey Roeming started Roeming Industrial Sales in 1955 as industrial distributors. Their children, Sandy and David, grew up learning the business hands-on, helping out wherever they could.

In 1974, the business moved from its original location in Milwaukee to a larger facility in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. After college, David joined full-time in 1977, and soon after, Brian Schumaker (Sandy’s husband) and Mary Roeming (David’s wife) became full-time team members as well.

By 1984, growth led to a move to our current Mequon, Wisconsin location. Along the way, we expanded beyond distribution, adding industrial sewing and other specialized services — and in 1995, we added another warehouse to keep up with demand. 

We couldn’t have imagined the journey we would take.

Through life’s ups and downs, the family spirit remained at the heart of Roeming. Sandy and Mary took ownership after Audrey and David passed, keeping the company on a path of growth. The company officially became Roeming Industries, Incorporated, a certified Woman-Owned Business, reflecting both its diversity and its evolving capabilities. Today, Sandy, Brian, and Greg Schumaker continue to lead the company, carrying forward the values and hands-on care that have defined us for generations.
